How might we improve the moviegoing experience?

The Project

For many modern movie enthusiasts, the movie theater experience has been plagued by several antiquated experiences. The concession buying process especially contains numerous problems for the average moviegoer, long lines, a singular point of purchase, and the cumbersome process of carrying food back to the theater proves to be inconvenient, time wasting, and an overall underwhelming experience.

The Goal

To create a digital solution that streamlines the ticket and concession purchasing process to guarantee the best possible movie theater experience.

1 - Research

For my research, we looked into consumer patterns and pain points when purchasing tickets and concessions. We then conducted a professional audit to gain insight on the current offerings of the market and the existing UX for consumers.

2 - Sketch and Wireframe

Once I completed my initial research, I created user flows for my personas, sketch potential solutions using pencil and paper, and created a digital wireframe from the sketched solutions

3 - Decide and Design

Next, I refined the design from the sketch and wireframe step and created a design system to help inform the visual design.

4 - Prototype

Once the design is complete, I created a functioning prototype based on the Hi-Fidelity designs and design system.

Outcomes and next steps

After creating the Hi-fidelity prototype, my next steps will be to begin a new round of user testing to define pain-points and potential features to add in order to further improve the User Experience.
